Access for Education and Training Providers

Priestley Smith Specialist School is committed to ensuring that pupils have opportunities to hear about the full range of education and training pathways available to them.

We welcome appropriate requests from providers who wish to speak to pupils about approved technical education qualifications, apprenticeships and other education and training opportunities.

Pupil entitlement

Pupils have opportunities to meet providers and learn about different routes available to them. Encounters are planned so that information is appropriate and accessible to the pupils involved. Where appropriate, opportunities are personalised according to pupils' individual needs.

Opportunities for providers

Providers may be invited to participate in assemblies, careers lessons, careers events, raising aspirations activities, provider encounters, visits and other appropriate curriculum/transition activities.

​

Facilities and accessibility

Priestley Smith will work with providers to agree appropriate facilities. Rooms may include appropriate presentation technology, and arrangements will take account of the accessibility needs of pupils. The Careers Leader/Careers Team will work with the provider in advance to ensure that the encounter is meaningful and accessible.
